Tracking Down Performance Issues in ASP.NET

There are other controls, and I’m sure I could go on talking about them for weeks yet, but we need to move on. Since most modules you build are going to need at least one table behind them, and most of the presentation layer can’t be developed until we have the data access coded, we are going to focus on the “right” way of accessing the tables in your database today.

Setting a Web Proxy on a WebService in .NET 3.x

A couple of weeks ago I wrote an article stating that Microsoft had changed how the proxy class for web services gets created. Many people found this helpful, but I got one question on the post that really needs to be answered in a new post:

Thanks, now can you tell us where to set the Proxy settings, .Proxy variable no longer exists, and ClientCredentials is not obvious if this is the replacement?

Virtual Files using HttpContext.RewritePath()

One of the cool new tricks we are able to perform in ASP.NET that we were not able to use in ASP is the ability to have ASP.NET redirect file requests in the same way that mod_rewrite does under the Apache webserver.
