Do you Need My Help?

MeI admit it, for the first time in years, I find myself under committed.  That is, I have less work than I have time.  So if you need someone who provides one of the several programming and web-related services below, I may be able to help you.

What you may not realize is how many different ways I may be able to help you or your organization.

General Programming Skills

If you’ve spent any amount of time reading this blog, you probably know me best for my web programming skills, including jQuery, ASP.NET, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, CSharp, VB.NET, dotnetnuke, Windows Forms, SilverLight.  If I’ve mentioned it on this blog, I can do it.

What you may not realize is that I also know PHP, Perl, Java, and C/C++.  Hey!  With 22 years of professional experience, I have worked with all the mainstream technologies.

Coaching

During my career, I’ve always ended up being the “go-to guy.”  Now I tend to work with small companies who don’t think they can afford someone with my experience full-time, but since I bill out my time in 15-minute increments, they can certainly afford me on an as-needed basis.

Instead of trying to solve a problem that you are getting nowhere on, you could call me up and have it solved in about a half hour.  Some problems take longer.  Some problems only take about 15 minutes.  But I always save the company time and money as a result of helping them out.

I don’t have to come in to do this either.  I have a tool I refer to as my “Magic Screen Viewer” that allows me to see your desktop from my office.  As long as you have an Internet connection and a phone (or Skype) I can help you.

I’ve also been known to conduct organizational reviews and bring staff up to speed on the latest best practices.

If you don’t have anyone on your staff who has been programming for at least 10 years, the chances are I can save you a lot of time, frustration, and ultimately money.

Web Site Development

I doubt that many people who are reading this will need this service, but just to be complete, I also develop web sites, from scratch, for clients.

Search Engine Optimization

I’ll be glad to share my results with you if you are serious about pursuing this.  But I can tell you that I am getting some serious results in this area.

I have three web properties of my own, including this blog, that have multiple page-one positions for the terms people use to search for the subject of the blog.

I have several clients who are on page one for at least one main keyword phrase as well as several less trafficked keyword phrases, which is where the real money is anyhow.  All of my clients are making more money than they were when I first met them.

Check the stats for this blog in Alexa.  You don’t get to the Alexa top 100K without knowing something about the subject of Search Optimization.

One of the tools that I use to help with search engine optimization is blogs.  The search engines, and Google specifically, love blogs–if you set them up correctly.  So one of the other things I can offer you is blog setup and management.

Blogs

The most effective way of getting web traffic is to start a blog.  I’ve developed a “Lather, Rinse, Repeat” method of blogging that has never failed to generate traffic.  If you enlist me to do SEO for you, I will probably recommend that you start a blog.

However, blogs have their own issues:

  • You have to use WordPress if you want the best results.
  • There are a set of plugins that you will need to install if you want the best results.
  • The software is always being updated and you’ll want to make sure you keep your blog  up to date with the latest releases.
  • You have to write consistently
  • You’ll need to get links coming into the blog so the search engines can find your articles.

I have several packages I can offer you that will do everything from setting up and maintaining the software to having the articles written for you and doing the search engine optimization.

Speaking

Lastly, I’m available to talk to your group about any of these topics or any topic I’ve written about on this blog.
