Who am I?
Hi! If you are reading this, then you are either extremely curious, have way too much time on your hands, or both. Or maybe you like what I’ve written and want to find out more about me? Maybe?
My name is Dave and I’ve been programming for over 20 years. I tell people that I’m the programmer with 20 years of experience that many small companies wish they could afford but can’t.
How do I fund life?
Programming
The primary way of funding my life is by programming. I currently have several customers that I am actively writing code for using both VB.NET and CSharp. My preferred language is CSharp, but I can use both if I have to. Some of the blog post are a result of this work.
Coaching
I tend to work with small organizations. I have several other clients that I’m under contract with to be the trouble shooter and coach. That is, instead of just fixing a problem, I explain to the person who "owns" the problem how I’m fixing it as I fix it. I worked for several years as a .NET trainer and this experience has been helpful as I explain to my clients how a particular problem needs to be solved. Much of the help I provide is available on Google, but using my service is faster and allows the person on the other end to ask questions.
Many of the blog post I’ve written are a result of work I’ve done with Coaching clients.
Search Engine Marketing
Having 20 years of experience means I also survived the dotCom boom and bust. During the boom I started learning the art of Search Engine Optimization. My learning has has continued and I’ve been able to optimize several sites of my own as well as several customer sites I’ve been involved in. I now provide both Search Engine Optimization and AdWords management to several clients.
