Releasing the Source Code for .NET
OK, well I totally missed this one. But then I didn’t start blogging in earnest until after this post.
I remember back in the day when Visual C++ came out. And then later while I coded Java/JSP I’ve ALWAYS been able to look at the code in the frameworks that I use to see what was really going on. In a large part, this was the only way that I was able to ever get the code to do what I wanted.
I was able to do this up until .NET came out. Well, it looks like they finally wised up and made the code available in Visual Studio 2008 (due out real soon now if you have the MSDN subscription.)
Way to go Microsoft! What took you so long?
